Extended Supervision
We are pleased to offer this service to our parents and students. There is Extended Supervision (E.S.) even on the first day of school. All E.S. is on site at the campus, supervised by the Carden E.S. staff. Additional E.S. is also available on Conference Days when there is no school for the day but parents are meeting with their child’s teacher.
Students who remain fifteen minutes after school is over and are waiting for late carpools are required to check in to E.S. for their safety. The E.S. fee will be charged to your account. If this not acceptable and the student is to leave campus without supervision, Carden Academy requires a signed letter from the parents absolving the school of liability for their child after the ending bell. A statement will be required specifying the off-campus location where the student will be met by their parents or guardians.
Times and Fees
7:15am - 7:45am: A.M. E.S., $2.75 per day per child
7:45am - 8:30am: Playground supervision, no charge
3:15pm - 6:00pm: P.M. E.S., $8.00 per day per child
12:00pm - 6:00pm: Noon dismissal days, $8.00 per child for 3pm pickup, $16.00 per child after 3pm.

Guidelines
- Starting 20 minutes before the end of school, students scheduled to attend E.S. will report to the E.S. waiting area to sign in.
- Students must line up to check in no later than 15 minutes after the ending bell rings.
- No one may leave the designated E.S. waiting area until everyone has been checked in and the E.S. supervisor has released the children.
- Students participating in After School Activities must remain in the E.S. waiting area until picked up by the Activity Director.
- Once the After School Activity is over, the Activity Director will check the remaining students into E.S. and provide the E.S. supervisor with the names of students who were picked up from school.
- Your child needs to picked up from the After School Activity immediately, or the E.S. fee will be charged.
- Please remind your child that they must be signed in and out with the E.S. supervisor. No student has permission to sign themselves in or out.
- At pickup, parents must sign their child out to release them from the E.S. program for the day.
- When the student is signed in to E.S., the library is available to them for study or homework, however, no food or soft drinks are allowed inside.
- At no time are students allowed to sit on top of or walk on top of the picnic tables.
- On rainy days, all parents may find their children in designated E.S. rooms for pickup. No E.S. fee will be charged until fifteen minutes following the school ending bell.
- All playground rules and regulations are the same as during the school day.
- Carden Academy has a “closed” campus policy. Once a student leaves the campus for the day, they may not return to campus for E.S.
- E.S. will not be responsible for students who do not check in and follow the guidelines. Those who do not follow the E.S. guidelines will be sent to the office. The first offense will be a verbal warning; the second offense will be a note home; the third offense will result in removal from the E.S. program. The administration reserves the right to remove the student from E.S. immediately if, in their discretion, the offense warrants such action.
