French:

Classes are held 4 days a week for 25 minutes.
Students continue textbook from Grade 2, Le Français Pour Les Elèves Américains, usually Lessons 6 – 12. The curriculum now includes how to form questions, to do the not form, and comparatives. They continue to add to their vocabulary.
There is homework 3 nights a week.
Students choose French names and begin to learn basic conversation.
Students learn how to use the dictionary.

Art:

Students in the third grade will focus on form and figure. Exercises include a blind contour drawing and posed drawing. Third graders will also be introduced to “real life” still life, as well as magazine and photographed images. Seasonal projects will reinforce these lessons.
Learn the illusion of space: foreground, middle ground, background.

Physical Education:

Begin to perform physical fitness activities
Begin to become familiarized with sports skills (volleyball, basketball, hockey, etc.)
Demonstrate good sportsmanship and offer encouragement to others
Perform the Presidential Physical Fitness Test

Computer:

Students continue to practice touch-typing using the program Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. Emphasis will be put on keyboarding over items taught.
Students will continue to learn to use proper posture when using the computer (Ergonomics).
Students will continue to review old procedures and learn new procedures in Microsoft Word.
Using Spell and Grammar Check

How to center text
How to cut and paste
Students will begin to understand computer programming using simple commands in MSW Logo
Visiting the Web site www.cybersmart.com, children will:
Discuss the understanding of  "property" to include not only computer equipment, but also the work of others, and then discuss rules for respecting that property.
Discuss good manners in the face-to-face world, and learn some dos and don'ts for using E-mail in cyberspace
Begin to learn how to search on the Internet using search engines.
Explore, evaluate and compare several children’s informational Web sites, and conclude that people’s opinions about the quality and usefulness of sites will vary
Explore the concept of cyberspace as a means of connecting people and explain how the ability to communicate can unite a neighborhood
